The Coalition of Services of the Elderly, Inc. recognizes the important contributions and services of older persons in the society through its annual awarding to ten outstanding older persons known as Sampung Ulirang Nakatatanda (SUN) Awards. The awarding ceremony is held every first week of October in celebration of the Elderly Filipino Week in the country.
It has discovered over 250 unsung older people heroes who have made differences to the lives of many and have given exemplary services in their communities. Most of them came from farmers, indigenous people, women and persons with disabilities sectors.
The search for another set of awardees who have inspiring and empowering experiences continues.
Nominate an older person you know with the following qualifications:
1) 60 years old and above
2) Not multi-awarded and not well-recognized in international or national level
3) Selflessly rendered life for the service of other people for at least five (5) years
The nomination should be done by an organization, community, groups or individuals whom they have served or inspired and not by any family members or relatives. Download the nomination form HERE.

All nominations should be submitted to COSE on or before the deadline.

All nominations will be validated by COSE.

Each awardee will receive cash prize and trophy to be given in the SUN Awards ceremony.

Nominees who will be chosen as the Sampung Ulirang Nakatatanda awardees will receive a letter of confirmation from COSE to inform that he/she has been chosen. The awardees and nominators will also receive a call from COSE to inform them of the results in advance.

Upon receiving the notice, awardees are expected to attach/send photos and video showing their involvement in the community or organization they serve.
